Onur Puza Quartet – Debut

The Jazzlab 27 Leslie Street (off Brunswick Street), Brunswick, Victoria

Melbourne-based guitarist, composer, arranger and educator Onur Puza will perform with Julian Banks (tenor saxophone), Philip Rex (bass) and Felix Bloxsom (drums) to presents his new compositions for his band’s debut performance in the venue.

Richard Pavlidis Trio – Debut

Richard Pavlidis' latest album, ‘Iconography’, is due for release in June 2023, and for this performance he presents his newest suite of music in a trio format, featuring Ben Robertson (double bass) and Darryn Farrugia (drums).

Nat Bartsch (Solo) + Mia Barham Sextet (Debut)

The Jazzlab 27 Leslie Street (off Brunswick Street), Brunswick, Victoria

Nat Bartsch's opening set will incorporate pieces from recent ARIA nominated jazz and classical releases, performed on piano and integrating live ambient electronics. Emerging saxophonist Mia Barham will premiere five new original works that feature beautiful melodies and intricate and sensitive harmony with her sextet - Mia Barham (alto saxophone and flute) collaborates with Ashley Ballat (trumpet), Dean Kalait (tenor saxophone), Pat Jaffe (piano), Monty Shnier (double bass) and Marissa Di Marzio (drums).

Kade Brown Quartet – farewell concert

The Jazzlab 27 Leslie Street (off Brunswick Street), Brunswick, Victoria

Before relocating to Germany in early July, Kade will be performing new original music with his band. It comprises frequent collaborators in Julien Wilson (saxophones and clarinets), who is featured on Kade’s most recent album “Frictions”, and fellow Monash University alumni Alastair Kennedy (drums) and Angus Radley (double bass).
