Remco Keijzer Quartet featuring Special Guest, Daniel Gassin

Sun 12 November @ 7:30 pm

$25 – $30
Remco Keijzer playing tenor saxophone inside a rustic building with a brick floor, corrugated iron panelling and wooden panelling.

Originally hailing from Amsterdam, tenor saxophonist Remco Keijzer has called Melbourne home for many years, but has spent the past year interstate (touring with his wife, Alinta Chidzey, who is the leading lady in the musical Moulin Rouge). This concert sees him reuniting with Paris-based expatriate pianist Daniel Gassin (a former bandmate from Alinta and the Jazz Emperors), who has returned here for an extended stay.

Joined by Chris Hale on acoustic bass guitar, and Darryn Farrugia on drums, their music is a dynamic collection of modern creative jazz, reminiscent of legendary figures like John Coltrane and McCoy Tyner, Chris Potter and Brad Mehldau.

With a rich blend of Australian and European influences, their offering a fresh take on the jazz genre will be delivered with high-energy.
