MAGNIFY is an ensemble led by alto saxophonist Flora Carbo exploring the intersection between acoustic and electronic improvisation. 

This project sees the amplification of the ‘Flora Carbo Trio’ (Maddison Carter on drums and Isaac Gunnoo on bass) with the addition of Eitan Ritz (modular synthesiser) who processes and manipulates the sounds of the group live. Inspired by the music of Sidney Bechet, Ornette Coleman and Arthur Russell, these compositions are driven by the level of trust and deep friendships in the group.  Their debut album was recorded live at Uptown Jazz Cafe in December 2021, and is a vibrant capture of the music that was developed over 2021 as part of the ‘Emergence’ Residency at Uptown Jazz Café (supported by the Victorian government through Creative Victoria).

This will be one of Carbo’s last performances before an extended stay in Europe.
