Pianist/composer Mark Fitzgibbon returned to Melbourne in the latter half of 2015, after several years based in Shanghai. He had worked in most of the best groups there and with several international touring artists, including Robin Eubanks, Theo Crocker, Tina May and Karen Mok. He will play a program of original compositions featuring Howard Cairns (bass) and Sam Bates (drums). Fitzgibbon is a renowned bebop master, who won considerable respect when based in London in the 1980s. In addition to his own CD recordings, his live performances with Dale Barlow have also been released on CD.
