Louise Goh debut / CD launch

Sun 17th February @ 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm

$15 – $20
Louise Goh

Trained in both classical piano, and Jazz & Improvisation (VCA), accomplished pianist and keyboardist Louise Goh launches her new solo album, It’s the little things, recorded in May, with collaborators Craig Strain (electric bass), Darryn Farrugia (drums) and Gideon Brazil (tenor saxophone & flute). A longstanding member of the Melbourne music scene, she released her debut piano trio album, Crossing Ahead, in 2013 with L.A.A. Goh has recently returned from overseas, where she has been performing with the multi-award-winning cabaret act, Yana Alana and The Paranas (in which she is a core member) at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Soho Theatre, London.

It’s the little things showcases Goh’s original compositions, which have a strong lyrical focus, featuring contemporary sounds (including Nord keyboard and Korg synthesizer) and an emphasis on fusion-style groove and rhythm. The group followed up this studio session with a performance at the 2018 Melbourne International Jazz Festival (Juilliard Lunchtime Series). The group will be playing tunes from the album, along with some new material.
