DESCRIPTION:Saxophonist Josh Kelly (alto & soprano sax)\, an emerging young talent\, who is the recipient of the 2019 PBS Young Elder of Jazz Award (a $10\,000 Commission for a work to be performed as part of the 2019 MIJF). He presents the newest iteration of forward thinking saxophone trio. Joined by James Mclean (drum kit) and Tamara Murphy (double bass)\, this trio has over the past two years developed a distinctive approach to improvising which radiates groove and energy.
